Apprenticeship
Our younger generations are our future hopes for a betterment
of our society. For many years, coaching has become an integral
part of corporate culture and we have been offering various
kinds of training programs and scholarship to students through
in association with trade associations, local institutes and
tertiary schools.
Developed in collaboration of the German
Swiss International School (GSIS) Hong Kong with
the German
Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GIC), the
two-year apprenticeship program is based on the German
Dual System of higher education. High school
graduates are given the opportunity to gain practical
experience underpinning theory learned in the school during
the apprenticeship period. After the completion, students
will be awarded with an internationally recognized diploma
in either foreign trade or logistics management.
Students of the Hong Kong apprenticeship program will
spend one and a half days each week at the Business College
of the GSIS, attending classes in business as well as
Chinese studies. The curriculum is jointly developed by
GSIS and GIC together with the training companies after
many years of experience. |

Schmidt Electronics is proud to be one of the training companies
to provide mentorship to young people in Hong Kong - one of
the world business centers. During our two-year program, the
trainees will receive comprehensive training by our professional
staff in various departments from Human Resources, Finance &
Account, and Sales & Marketing to Operation & Logistics,
etc.
Apprentice program with
HKUST

Schmidt & Co., (Hong Kong) Limited, a subsidiary of
Schmidt Electronics, has organized an apprenticeship program
in collaboration with Hong
Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
It aims to let students understand and explore RFID applications
in service industries beyond mainstream logistics or manufacturing
sectors in Hong Kong. Being part of their curriculum,
students in this program have gone through a 3-month attachment
for the intensive RFID training that entails seminars,
talks, site visits and mentorship. The participants of
the winning project were also given job opportunities
in the company. |
Scholarship
Schmidt Award of Excellence is the only scholarship award granted
to the excellent performed research postgraduates in the Department
of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Hong Kong University
of Science & Technology (HKUST).
Mentorship
We actively support local government initiatives in the countries
where we operate by participating in local business associations
and chambers of commerce. Our staff also takes up duties in
professional associations to foster the development of the industries.
Giving
Giving is another our commitment to the society. Our subsidiaries
organize different kinds of fund-raising and donation activities
in response to the contiguous events such as earthquakes, flooding
and pandemics on an irregular basis and also encourage our staff
to get involved in community services.
