Limited was named as the winner of Innovation and Creativity
Awards at the 2008 Hong Kong Awards for Industries, which recognizes
the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong Enterprises in the
manufacturing and service sectors. This annual competition is
recognized as one of the most prestigious and iconic events
in the city.
Schmidt has been selected as one of the three winners in
the pool of competitors from different sectors ranging from
services, manufacturing, to retail and IT industries. In the
same event, Schmidt's RFID reader, G-BOX, was also awarded
with a certificate of merit under Machine Tools Design and
Machinery category.
Schmidt's Managing Director Mr. Klaus Festl received
the award from Mr. KK Yueng, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong General
Chamber of Commerce, the co-organizer of the event, in the
glittering awards ceremony held in Hong Kong on the 21st January
2009.
The Awards not only recognized Schmidt's long-standing
commitment to an innovative culture promoted across the organization,
but also put innovative business into practices and demonstrated
strong commercial achievements and contribution to the industries
and the wider community at the same time.

About the Awards
The Hong Kong Awards for Industries was launched in 2005 by
combining the former Hong Kong Awards for Industry and Hong
Kong Awards for Services. The Awards recognizes the outstanding
achievements of Hong Kong enterprise, both the manufacturing
and service sector, to promote higher technology and higher
value-added activities. The competition in 2008 was very keen
with 245 entries vying for the awards from seven categories
(Consumer Product Design, Machinery and Machine Tools Design,
Customer Service, Environmental Performance, Innovation and
Creativity, Productivity and Quality, and Technological Achievement).
