e-Newsletter, a bi-yearly e-Newsletter for Schmidt Electronics Group’s employees. We will be reporting mainly on the latest happen events
within Schmidt Electronic Group, along with other pertinent industry
news and information in order to serve a better communication between
the management and employees. This e-newsletter is an ideal way
to provide recognition, boost morale, improve employee relations
and educate employees, so we work together toward our company goals.

could be finalized on time and included once again a broad range
of information about our operation and organization.

form ESHL Dongguan Branch Office has been set up and operated
since July 2007. Mr. John Wen was seconded to the office from

ESHL has opened a new branch in Ningbo since November 2007 with about 7 employees. Occupies 150 square meters for the new office area in gross with 9 seats, among which ESE takes 6 while SEAL takes 3.
The new office location is very convenient to the railway station, just only takes 6-8 minutes by taxi and 1-2 minutes by walk to Ningbo’s Central Square “天一廣場”, with lots of banks and stores nearby.

was held in Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Hong Kong. Programs
are included: Theme Booth Display; Industry Sharing; Artist
Singing (胡定欣小姐) and Fabulous Chinese Dinner. It was our great
honour to have Mr. Daniel Lin, Chief Financial Officer, Ms.
Candice Tsang, Corporate Finance and Legal Manger and Ms.
Charlotte Lee, Consultant to join this Dinner Event. It was
an enjoyable evening.

Schmidt–HKUST Apprentice Program (10

December 2007 - Schmidt & Co., (HK) Ltd. and
Hong Kong University of Science Technology had organized the
first “Schmidt-HKUST Apprentice Program” which was held in
HKUST Campus. The key objective of this unique program was
to let students to understand and to explore RFID’s applications
in service industries beyond mainstream logistics or manufacturing
sectors in Hong Kong. 3 teams of 4 students were selected
and run through a 3 months intensive RFID training that entails
seminars, talks, site visits and mentorship. This program
had achieved a major milestone of closer collaboration between
academia and industry. The final “Apprentice Awards” were
presented to two students (Mr. Anthony Lee Lap Tak & Ms.
Shera Lai Pak Wa) as our Schmidt Apprentices with the job
opportunities inside Schmidt & Co., (HK) Ltd.

Inno Design Technology 2007 Expo (12-14
December 2007) was held in
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 2 |

12-14 December 2007 – Schmidt RFID has participated
the IDT Expo 2007 Exhibition, which was held in Hong Kong
Convention and Exhibition Centre. Schmidt RFID has promoted G-Box,
Smart Retail Systems (SRS) & Logistics and Asset Management
System (LAMS) in this event. The feedbacks were excellent.
We had met with many potential customers and generated many
new enquiries from local and overseas visitors, i.e. UK, Kenya,
America, Germany. The G-Box and SRS had also attracted many
media coverage during this exhibition.

September 2007 - Upscale fashion label and retailer
mi-tu has outfitted two of its Hong Kong shops with RFID-enabled
mirrors and electronic displays. The devices enable customers,
at a glance, to view and locate a wide selection of in-store
inventory while they try on and shop for clothes. The first
store was equipped in November 2006, the second deployment
occurred in May 2007 and the third one will be in-store in
November 2007. The interactive shopping system has increased
sales in the stores by 30%, which sells Italian designs at
28 stores in China, Hong Kong, Macau and caters to young,
high-spending female shoppers.

October 2007 - PT/EXPO COMM CHINA, as the largest
international information and communications exhibition in
Asia, has continuously obtained warm response and active support
from domestic and international enterprises. The total exhibit
space is anticipated to exceed 55,000 square meters, in which
over 65% space belongs to the international hall.
Continue an ITU Event was held in December 2006 Hong Kong
which support by China government, it have a great response
for that event, in order to carry forward, China is organizing
a PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2007 event which provide public information
& communication service, network service, exchange and
transmission technology and equipment, terminal equipment,
computer hardware equipment and software products, network
technology and related products and communications accessories,
etc. Such advanced technology and equipment in the communications
area like 3G / 4G mobile communications, satellite communications,
network multimedia, WAP applications, IP network, UDWDM,
WLAN, NGN, WiMAX, xDSL, data integration, MSTP, FTTH, and
testing sector, will be displayed in the exhibition.

ESE booth was held in NEPCON South China 2007 exhibition

28-31 August 2007 - NEPCON South China is the largest
and most complete trade event for South China’s SMT industry,
provides a platform for trade visitors to find new suppliers,
gather market information and learn about the latest technologies.
ESEL has participated in the NEPCON South China 2007 exhibition
during 28-31 August, 2007 with the new corporate image and
identity. There were approximately 20,000 visitors for this
show, which showing that 12% increases of visitors compare
with last year. |

in Munich, Germany and the world’s leading trade fair for

The world’s leading trade fair gives some 1,500 international

October 2007 - mi-tu, Schmidt RFID’s client, an Italian
fashion retailer won a “Demand Creation Excellence
Award” as mi-tu implemented Schmidt RFID’s Smart
Retail System in their shops recently. The first-ever Efficient
Consumer Response (ECR Hong Kong) Awards Presentation Ceremony
was successfully held in the GS1 Hong Kong SCM Excellence
Conference 2007 on October 12, 2007. The Award is dedicated
to encourage local business sectors to implement SCM best
practices and innovating customer service by obliging ECR
strategy in Hong Kong.
The Efficient Consumer Response (ECR Hong Kong) Awards
2007 is organized by ECR Hong Kong and GS1 Hong Kong as
a milestone of recognition to various trading partners in
attaining the superior business success by obliging efficient
ECR in Hong Kong.

to the SICC’s Enterprise Multi-Match (SEMM) Programme, which

corporation (MNCs), small and medium enterprises (SMEs). SEAL,
MacroScience Technology, teamed up with Japanese giant, Sumitomo
Corporation which act as the exclusive marketing agent for

Mr. Patrick Low,
General Manager
of Schmidt Vietnam
|
Effective
on 06 July 2007, Mr. Patrick Low will be
based in Hanoi office responsible for the overall business
operation in Vietnam. Patrick has been in management position
for the past 15 years in Vietnam and MNC companies in the
region. Prior to joining Schmidt , he was responsible in the
factory operation with focus in sales and operation in S.E.A.
countries. He had proven great success in increasing the sales
in Vietnam, Philippines and other regions by applying strategic
approach when dealing with different customers.
By understanding the Vietnamese culture and history, he
was able to lead the workforce successfully in Vietnam through
implementation of various excellent program. We are confident that Patrick will bring along his wealth
of management experiences and putting our Vietnam operation
back on track.

plus other potential markets. With 8 years' experience in the
LCD industry, he has gained a wealth of knowledge in the industry.
He had stationed in Shanghai for 2 years; putting in great efforts
to open up the markets there. He is currently working on new
material supplier recruitment that broadens our product range
and market coverage. |

Mr. Edwin Tan
joined Schmidt Electronics (S.E.A.) Pte Ltd. as Product Marketing
Manager of S.E.A. region on 15 November 2007. Edwin is based
in Singapore and report directly to Mr. T.Y. Lim. Edwin has
15 years of technical experience in the high-tech industry,
mainly semiconductor and PCBA. He has held sales and marketing
positions in his previous employments but he has strong passion
in marketing. His achievements include the development of
new products and market segments for S.E.A region. He enjoys
analyzing and conducting market research as it helps to develop
his analytical skills in problem solving and decision marketing.
He is creative in organizing various marketing activities
including large-scale events like exhibitions.
