CEO's Message
Dear colleagues,
It is my pleasure to launch the new Schmidt Electronics Group e-newsletter. This new e-newsletter should serve as a bi-directional communication platform for all levels within our organization and across the entire group structure.
The Schmidt Electronics Group has grown significantly over the past few years either by organic or by acquisitions and thus has undergone a number of organizational re-alignments. Accordingly to an old saying “Change is life” there have been numerous activities like geographical and business expansions, new office locations, new businesses and of course “new family members” support this enormous business growth over the years.
With all these activities going on it is more than ever important to have a communication platform available to share news and future development with all of our “family members”.
Last but not least I hope you will enjoy our new communication tool and urge all of you to participate in its success.
Best personal regards,
Klaus Festl

Last year, the Group entered into the final episode of its transformation process by implementing the new legal entity concept. This new corporate structure will enable the individual legal entities to achieve a clear identification and business focus. They will finally be in a better position to develop competitive advantages within their respective peer groups.
As presented previously by the corporate management, the individual legal entities will subsequently integrate the required supported units necessary to conduct their individual businesses.
As this process cannot be implemented overnight, we will keep all readers of the e-newsletter updated on the status of the implementation. |

Fundamental People Management Training
The Fundamental People Management Training was held in Hong Kong office on 19-20 January 2007 with the aim of equipping managers or superiors with the knowledge, skills and tools of supervising subordinates so as to enhance a more participative style of management. The training was conducted by Mr. Ellis Ku & Mr. Dick Yip of LMI Academy Ltd. Altogether, 13 staff from S China & HK regions attended the training.
Feedback
from two participants:
The
training is definitely very valuable and essential for every
Leader/Manager who aspires to manage the team effectively and
efficiently in an organization. Some of the most impressive
highlights include the communication and management skills on dealing
with team dynamics and the adoption of various leadership skills in
handling different situations.

Development Manager, RFID
Regarding
the Fundamental People Mgmt Training I take early this year, it is
quite different from other training courses I had before. Unlike
others, the trainer didn't talk of only concepts but did show us
how to do it. Then, he let us practise on our own. So, we could
have many chances for practising and use the concepts right after we
have learnt them. The trainer would comment and let us know how well
we've done or where there is room for further improvement. It's very
practical and helpful to my career.

MacroScience Technology GmbH presents innovations for X-Ray inspection on SMT show 2007 (April 24 - 26, 2007) in Nuremberg Germany
This year's SMT show was a big success. MacroScience received a lot of positive feedback from customers for the new systems and a lot of new business contacts were made on the all time crowded booth. The new Logo and corporate design received many compliments from the visitors.
The Highlight of the presentation at the booth was the MSX 3000A.
The MSX 3000A is the advanced development of the MSX 3000, which was presented for the first time at last year's SMT show. With the MSX 3000A, MacroScience is the first company in the world to use the Inline Planar Computed Tomography (IPCT) in a system for Inline X-Ray inspection.
Due to this innovation, the image quality is the best within the market and a depth of test which was not achievable in the past can be accomplished. In the field of electronic assembly production, small manual systems up to real 3D Inline X-Ray inspection systems are now in the product portfolio.
Furthermore, MacroScience presented its new system family for Non Destructive Testing (NDT). The entry model of this product line is the MSX CT300. With this system, MacroScience provides the customers a real high resolution CT system with the worldwide fastest reconstruction algorithm. By adding the MSX CT series to the product portfolio, MST now covers the whole range of X-Ray inspection and also offers small laboratory systems up to big walk in CT systems.
