POD solution adds confidence to your logistics operations |
Schmidt's Proof of Delivery (POD) solution enables operators to take a full control of the deliveries as it turns the entire delivery process fully visible in real-time – from the point of dispatch to the point of delivery.
Whether you are customers, retailers, warehouse personnel, you can grasp the latest development of the delivery with an immediate access to the real-time data online. Delivery workers can comfortably plan and design their most efficient routes in full autonomy with a lightweight handheld terminal on the road; capture data and instantly transmit the proof of delivery such as customers' signature and parcel image to the host system; process credit cards and print out the receipt at the point of delivery.
In addition, the system also provides you with a full tracking record. It captures arrival and departure times, delivered/ collected items and their quantity through handheld terminals as they arrive and depart from each destination. Mobile workers can even receive new missions, transfer orders on their way; amend item details and input the reasons for exceptions. |

MagicStrap® a new definition for PCB materials tracking
SHKL has launched a new solution – Murata MagicStrap® - for PCB manufacturing industry, which re-defines the materials tracking process along the assembly line. Building on RFID technology, MagicStrap® is not only able to overcome many of the problems that are associated with traditional used barcodes such as line-of-sight, board real estate, non-durability and human intervention, but also brings along with many other distinguished advantages opening up a new perspective for PCB industry. |
|
 |
MagicStrap® is a passive RFID tag specially designed for PCBA industry that is mounted on as an integral part of the PC board to obtain the excellent read range while maintaining the tiny form. The EPC Gen2 specification also benefits manufacturers to track products throughout the global supply chain and takes advantages of the facilities that have been established amongst partners and retailers.
|
| Most important of all, MagicStrap® helps raise the bar of product quality. With the solution in place, all batches of the materials, consumables and tooling used in the assembling line can be accurately tracked, documented and associated right up from the start and at each stage of manufacturing process. It turns the production line completely visible and transparent, and ensures all steps and materials are completed, verified, tested and passed the quality check. Further, it streamlines and error-proofs the manufacturing process, increases throughput, improves traceability and ultimately benefits the bottom line by reduced waste and cost. |
|
 |
The device also enables manufacturer to identify and isolate the problematic part/ process without a need of disassembling the entire part. Instead of recalling the whole batch, we can trace back those serial numbers made on specific machine, at a specific date that caused the problem. These benefits can extend beyond manufacturing to the entire lifecycle. As the tag can be reprogrammable at any stages, individual components data can be tweaked to accommodate particular design, it favors in particular the assembly line that handles various customized PCB in small quantity. It also paves the way for mass customization to meet the intensely competitive market.

Case Study - SHKL helps a Beijing Hospital realize delivery safety for special drugs
SHKL is now running a project with a national reputable hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) in Beijing to help improve the distribution safety of the special drugs in the hospital. This hospital has been founded since 1921 and is designated as one of the national hospitals to diagnose and treat severe and complicated diseases. This project is in response to the new mandate stipulated by SFDA of the state in 2007 to step up a stricter control of the special drugs distribution in China.
Poisons, psychiatric medication and temperature sensitive agents such as vaccines are classified as the special drugs in China that have to be under close monitoring during the dispensing process. The project aims at improving the visibility and traceability for the entire drug distribution process in a bid to ultimately improve patient safety and the overall supervision quality and standards.
We use passive RFID with EPC Gen2 specification as the core technology for this deployment. RFID kiosks were set up in warehouse and pharmacies to perform instant check-in/ checkout for the inventory. Handheld readers were used at the mobile points of work in the hospital such as clinics, patient wards and emergency rooms. With this system in place, the distribution route, drug status, handling persons and the duration can be clearly observed in the system. Hospital can gain control of the entire delivery process and take the precautionary actions well before the problems actually evolved, thanks to the alert system that can send out warning for those delivery exceeds the normal duration.
Though the client is still familiarizing himself with this automated system since its debut two month ago, they are satisfied with the performance and considering extending it to prescription or high valued drugs in the future.
To learn more, please contact Mr. Warwick So, SHKL at WarwickSo@schmidtelectronics.com for more details.
